Italian artist, Maurizio Cattelan, probably best known for his 18-karat gold toilet sculpture or, more recently, the controversial banana-duct-taped-to-a-wall-masterpiece, has come together with New York’s New Museum to present a new concept.
‘Bedtime Stories’ — a series that only Maurizio Cattelan could possibly conceive.
He’s enlisted some of the world’s most famous names in art and music to read bedtime stories, new and old, including Jeff Koons, Takashi Murakami, Marilyn Minter, Tacita Dean, Abraham Cruzvillegas and Andra Ursuta, thus far.
With a different artist and story uploaded daily to the New Museum’s website until the end of June, there are ample audio selects from which to choose.
So, if you’re having trouble sleeping (quite likely) and wonder if Iggy Pop reading you a bedtime story might help… tonight, my friend, is your night.
