Mark Alsweiler (b.1983, New Zealand) is a visual artist based in Melbourne, Australia. He graduated from Otago University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in design.
Working across drawing, painting and sculpture, his work explores the aspects of the ordinary and everyday. Paintings are visual assemblages formed from a variety of sources, which walk a line between abstraction and figuration. Interested in the various forms of design and architecture, he works around contrasting elements of form and structure, alongside ideas of duality and balance.
