Waris Ahluwalia’s House of Waris Botanicals release a timely immunity-boosting brew.
Words INDEX
You may recognise him from such films as The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and The Grand Budapest Hotel. Or, perhaps, as a style icon for his vintage threads.
Either way, Waris Ahluwalia is one of the coolest figures of a generation. Five years ago, the lifestyle that made him one of the most photographed men in the world, started to take its toll and he began to regularly feel tired and stressed. What to do?
Ahluwalia looked inwards to find a solution and decided upon tea. Informed by beverage blends he drank during his upbringing in India, the actor/designer (who’s collaborated with A.P.C. and Kenzo), took traditional influence from Ayurveda, Chinese medicine and holistic health.
House of Waris Botanicals is the name and they opened their first bricks-and-mortar doors just one year ago in New York. The pandemic arrived and those doors shapeshifted into virtual ones with an online shop. On offer is a botanical fusion line up including a new blend entitled Immunity One — a mix of elderberry, lemon, ginger, cordyceps mushroom and several other vegan ingredients that aid circulation, support the respiratory system and reduce inflammation.
