The fashion photography pair, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, have sat the the top of the image-making echelon for the last few decades shooting campaigns for industry stalwarts such as Balenciaga, Givenchy, Chloé, Galliano and Tom Ford. And now, drum-roll, they bring us Double Dutch.
Their cutely ingenious concept of gifting cash has come smack bang at a perfect time in the world’s current financial climate and, with the help of Kidfund CEO Laura Bailyn, Rent the Runway former exec Piyusha Eluri and e-commerce giant Ayden, have soft-launched online.
Essentially, the app allows users to send a cash gift fronted by a gift card. But not just any gift card. A gift card created by a celebrated artist such as Richard Prince, Maurizio Cattelan or Urs Fischer. So, choose your artiste du jour, add a personal message and you can rest easy with a zero-carbon footprint gift ticked off your to-do list.
