With everything that’s happened in 2020, you’d be forgiven if a certain date has slipped your mind. The US elections are a mere couple of months away and the creative community is speaking up. In a laying-of-their-hands-on-the-table move, many fashion and art heavyweights are backing a Biden-run government with merch you might actually like.
Who’s in the mix? Our eyes are on the ‘Flag’ tee by Proenza Schouler, ‘Believe in Better’ scarf by Thom Browne, ‘Future Stronger in Colour’ tee by Prabal Gurung and ‘Rebuild with Love’ sweatshirt by Jason Wu.
In a similar breath, renowned gallerist David Zwirner has just launched an online-exclusive sale to raise money for Democratic presidential nominee, Joe Biden and running mate, Kamala Harris. Entitled Artists for Biden, the fundraiser features a who’s who of art elite including artworks by Jenny Holzer, KAWS, Ed Ruscha, Doug Aitken, George Condo, Shirin Neshat, Catherine Opie and Kehinde Wiley.
Not only are there pieces from Zwirner’s gallery in the mix, we also spy a diverse offering including works from Gladstone Gallery, Lehmann Maupin Gallery, and Marian Goodman Gallery.
Let’s hope these campaign efforts spread the word of Biden’s bid far and wide.
