The model at the centre of many of the most iconic ’90s fashion images now adds museum curator to her résumé.

Claudia Schiffer, the great face of ’90s fashion.

This decade sees the German supermodel play a very different role, this time as museum curator. Early 2021, Schiffer will present an exhibition at Düsseldorf’s Kuntspalast Museum with a detailed show of ’90s fashion photography.

“It was an intense and amazing time that had not been seen before, when shoots lasted for days and fashion was front-page news for weeks. Myself, and the other supermodels, lived and breathed it and, for the first time, we realised together, we had the power to make change.” — Claudia Schiffer.

Among the exhibition mix, will be a smorgasbord of the best 1990s photographers including Juergen Teller, Karl Lagerfeld and Ellen von Unwerth, all of which have taken famous images of Schiffer herself.

Fashion Photography from the 1990s — Curated by Claudia Schiffer runs 4 March through 13 June 2021 at Kunstpalast Düsseldorf.
